Make Your Own Christmas Garland in Candy Cane Style

The garland typically represents honor, heralds a celebration and brings praise. The garland can be a very symbolic as well as beautiful decorative item.

This candy cane style garland is easy to make and is loaded with meaning.

The candy cane represents the shepherds crook carried by Shepherds in the Christmas Nativity Story. The shepherd crook was used to hook around the neck of a lost sheep stuck in the briars or on a cliffs edge and pull him to safety. It is symbolic of the amazing life saving event about to take place in history. The birth of Jesus was the beginning of our salvation.

The white flowers are like the Christmas Rose that symbolizes deep devotion in the Christian Faith. The story behind this tells of a young poor girl called Madelon who at the time of Jesus' birth wanted so much to give a gift to Jesus but had nothing to give. She despaired as she saw the lavish gifts others bestowed upon Jesus. An angel came to her , touched the snow and helped her to find a white rose buried in the snow. She joyfully gave her gift to the Christ Child.

The holly represents the crown of thorns the Lord Jesus wore at His death and the red berries symbolize the blood he shed at His Death

The red vine is symbolic of fruitfulness that comes from believing His birth and Death and acting upon all that they mean.
